Under the hood.
Restoring the seventh-generation presentation of GTA V involves more than swapping textures. The project revisits interface behavior, Scaleform assets, and the way the PC engine presents the game.
Version 1.0 · Final polishingScaleform UI
Classic interface presentation includes original-generation Scaleform layouts and their interaction with engine-side UI code. The restoration aims to reproduce the feel and behavior of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions.
Pause map & minimap
Masking, frame boundaries and map transitions are a particular focus. The work includes restoring generation-specific presentation details that can otherwise disappear in PC-era UI implementations.
Engine integration
The project includes C++-level changes to interface and rendering paths, informed by research into the seventh-generation implementation. This is not just a visual preset.
Asset organization
The development build organizes restoration resources into dedicated packages for UI, visuals and other assets. Public packaging and redistribution details are still under review.

Development approach
Work has involved studying Xbox 360 behavior, comparing it with the PC version, implementing compatible behavior, and testing the results in-game. The focus for 1.0 is now bug fixing, compatibility testing and polish.
